History of St Anne's Nursery School:
Welcome to our website! Originally established in 1908 as a semi-open air nursery, St. Anne’s Nursery School is reputed to be the oldest nursery school in London.

Situated in the very heart of the north Kensington community, St. Anne’s is a maintained sector, 75-place nursery school which offers non-fee paying, educational provision and care for children from three to five years of age from 9.15 a.m. until 3.30 p.m. For parents and carers who need after-school provision, St. Anne’s Out of School Club is available (for a minimal cost) from 3.30 p.m. until 6 p.m.

We are very proud of our reputation as a lively, dynamic, multi-cultural, inclusive nursery school and children’s centre and of the friendly, welcoming and supportive environment we offer.

Our emphasis at St. Anne’s is on active learning within a friendly, informal environment which meets individual needs and fosters the development of the whole child. We believe that a firm partnership between school and home provides a solid foundation for learning and we value the involvement of our parents and carers.

The staff at St. Anne’s work hard to provide an Early Years curriculum of a very high standard. The team consists of qualified teachers, nursery officers and teaching assistants and includes a number of other support staff. All are dedicated to providing the children with first-class care and high-quality early learning activities and experiences.

In line with other state-maintained community schools, St. Anne’s is subject to regular inspection by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted). As a result of our last two Ofsted inspections (June 2007 and January 2010),  St. Anne’s was judged to be ‘outstanding’ in each of the areas of the inspection framework. Please see the inspection reports for further details.

Choosing the right start to your child’s education is very important. We hope that the information on our website will be useful to you in making your decision.
