Zee Smile is an India's first 24 hour
comedy television channel that was launched on September 11, 2004. The channel
was launched by Zee Network as Smile TV, but on March 28, 2005 as part of Zee
Network's revamp, the channel was renamed as Zee Smile.

History:
The channel was established by Essel Group under the stewardship of Ashish
Kaul, VP of Corporate Brand Development and Nitin Vaidya, business head of
Smile TV. Along with sitcoms, the
channel also broadcast game shows, comedy chat shows, and comedy movies. The
channel also acquired various successful globally accepted comic formats as
well as Indian formats to generate more revenue.
The
channel was mainly launched to compete with rival SAB TV, the only other Indian
comedy channel. Presently, with a tough competition in the market and Zee TV
being the main focus, Zee Smile has no original (new) shows in its basket.
Currently, it only airs reruns of recently ended popular drama series of its
sister channel Zee TV along with some television shopping programmes.

Along with airing reruns of previous comedy shows of Zee TV channel, following
